A comprehensive database on culture and arts, the Arts Library collects and distributes a variety of information and data about culture and arts both at home and abroad. The Library currently holds about 150,000 documents and over 30,000 pieces of non-literary data such

as audio, visual and new-media materials, which are all available to anyone who may be interested. The Library has also built a convenient online search facility for Internet users.

 ¡æ Books: books, periodicals, bulletins, newsletters, etc.

 ¡æ Other written materials: manuscripts, programs, pamphlets, picture books, posters,      photos, musical notes, etc.

 ¡æ Visual materials: LDs, videos, slides, 16mm films, etc.

 ¡æ Musical materials: CDs, LPs, SPs, cassettes, reel tapes, etc.

 ¡æ New-media materials: CD-ROMs, CD-Is, CD-Gs, academic D/Bs, etc.

 ¡æ March to October: 10:00 - 20:00 (closes at 17:00 on Saturdays)

 ¡æ November to February: 10:00 - 19:00 (closes at 17:00 on Saturdays)

   ¡Ø Closed on Sundays and public holidays

 

-  Literary Information Hall

Located on the second floor of the archive, the Literary Information Hall (about 1,197§³) contains about 150,000 books and documents published both at home and abroad. Books, periodicals, magazines, bulletins, manuscripts and newsletters are arranged on shelves

to be browsed through and read at the leisure of visitors. One needs to ask at the reception

desk to look at pamphlets, programs, picture books, posters, photographs and musical

notes.

 

-  Audio-Video Hall

The Audio-Video Hall (about 1,752§³) is located on the third floor of the Arts Library. Here visitors can use video and audio materials as well as new-media materials and the Internet. You need to check the reference number from the list before asking at the reception desk. There are 40 private music rooms, 2 group music rooms (one for 5-10 people and another for 10-20 people), and a multi-purpose music room (70 people).

 

- Online Information Service

Located on the third floor of the KCAF, the Online Information Service is where visitors can gain access to online information services on culture and arts. Here, visitors can get a

wide variety of information on texts, plays, scenarios, theater companies, theater venues,

a cultural program bank's English-translations of Korean literature, lists of collections by the KCAF, visual information on authors and so forth.
