Mission and Goal

Founded in 1973 with the aim of promoting the development and preservation of cultural heritage and arts in Korea, the Korean Culture and Arts Foundation (KCAF) provides a

wide variety of related services and supports for individual artists and art groups as well

as researchers and the general public. More specifically, the KCAF:

 

* Provides support for research and creative activities in the fields of literature, fine

  arts, music, dance, drama, photography, architecture, publications and other forms of   popular culture.

* Assists in the acquisition, research, publication, and distribution of works which

  contribute to the development of the unique culture and arts of Korea.

* Promotes international culture exchanges.

  Provides support to improve the welfare of individual artists and art groups in creating

  a better working environment.

* Explores a variety of projects, such as the tickets for Art Lovers' program and arts

  courses, to offer the general public opportunities to gain access to art-related cultural

  events. Promotes cultural and artistic activities in local areas.

* Provides highly specialized educational programs to individuals searching for a   professional career in the field of culture and arts.

* Manages and operates the KCAF Arts Theater, the Marronnier Art Center,  the Arts

  Library, and the Arts Training Center.

* Constructs and operates the culture and arts information network, develops a database,

  and provides information services.  

* Raises money for, and manages, the Korean Culture and Arts Promotion Fund

  (KCAP Fund).
